The challenge
Most of the restaurant's delivery orders came through aggregator apps that took a large commission. In the dining area, printed menus were expensive to update whenever prices changed, and orders were sometimes missed between waiters and the kitchen.
Our approach
We gave the restaurant a simple way to take orders directly, while keeping the kitchen workflow as close to what the staff already knew as possible.
The solution
Customers can order on the restaurant's own website for delivery or pickup and pay online. In the dining area, each table has a QR code that opens the live menu; guests can browse and order from their phones.
All orders appear on a kitchen display and in the counter dashboard, with status updates for preparing, ready and delivered. Menu items and prices can be changed in seconds.
How we built it
The ordering site is a fast Next.js app with a FastAPI backend. We designed QR table cards, set up the kitchen screen on a tablet, and connected online payments and WhatsApp order notifications.
