Bed and collection view for management

The challenge

Registration, OPD, wards, the pharmacy and the lab each kept their own registers. A patient's details were written again at every counter, bills were added up by hand at discharge, and management had no single place to see bed occupancy or the day's collections.

Doctors also lost time looking for earlier prescriptions and reports, because they were stored on paper or in different computers.

Our approach

We spent the first weeks at the hospital, following a patient from the reception desk to discharge. That gave us a clear map of every hand-off and the information each team actually needs.

We agreed to launch in phases, starting with registration, OPD and billing, so staff could get used to the new way of working before wards, pharmacy and lab moved over.

The solution

The hospital now uses one web-based system. Each patient gets a single ID at registration, and their visits, prescriptions, admissions, lab reports and bills are linked to it.

Reception books OPD tokens, doctors write digital prescriptions, ward staff manage bed allocation and nursing notes, and the billing desk builds the final bill automatically from services, medicines and room charges. Role-based access means each person only sees what their job needs.

How we built it

The system was built with a FastAPI backend and a PostgreSQL database, with a fast React interface that works on the desktops already in use. Thermal and A4 printing for tokens, bills and reports was set up at every counter.

We trained each department separately, stayed on site during the first days of every phase, and now provide ongoing support and updates.
