Loan Collection App for a Microfinance Company

Loan officers visited customers in villages with printed collection sheets. Entries were typed into the office computer days later, mistakes were common, and branch managers could not see collections until the end of the week.

Field conditions decided the design: low-end Android phones, weak or no mobile signal and users who are not comfortable with complicated apps. The app had to work offline and sync later.

Each officer sees their customers and the day's due instalments. They record payments, add notes and capture the visit location, even without a signal. Customers receive a digital receipt by SMS when the data syncs.

Branch and head-office staff see collections, overdue accounts and officer activity in a web dashboard.

The field app is built with Flutter with an offline-first local database, and the backend runs on FastAPI with PostgreSQL. Data is encrypted on the device and in transit, and every change is logged for audit.
