The challenge
Each store used a different billing program, so stock and sales could not be combined. The owner had to call each store for daily figures, and moving stock between stores was tracked on paper.
Our approach
We built for the busiest moment, the billing queue on a weekend, and made sure the counter could keep billing even if the internet connection dropped.
The solution
Every store now bills on the same system with barcode scanning, discounts, multiple payment modes and GST invoices. Stock is managed centrally, transfers between stores are recorded, and customers earn loyalty points they can redeem at any store.
The owner sees sales, stock and best-selling items for each store, or all stores together, on a phone.
How we built it
The POS is a web application that keeps working offline at the counter and syncs when the connection returns. The backend runs on FastAPI and PostgreSQL.
