The challenge
Dispatchers assigned deliveries over phone calls, and proof of delivery was a signature on paper. Customers called the office to ask where their parcel was, and nobody could answer without calling the driver.
Our approach
We followed drivers on their routes and sat with dispatchers to understand the real workflow, then designed a driver app with as few taps as possible.
The solution
Dispatchers create and assign consignments in a web dashboard. Drivers see their run sheet in the app, update each stop and capture a photo and signature as proof of delivery. Customers receive a tracking link that shows the delivery status.
Management sees daily deliveries, failed attempts and driver performance.
How we built it
The driver app is built with Flutter, and the dashboard and API use FastAPI and PostgreSQL. Location updates are sent at sensible intervals to protect battery life and data.
